As Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for Kindred Healthcare, Scott Nelson is responsible for facilitating the organizational transformation to a modern, center-led supply chain organization characterized by effective strategies, analytics and governance for all categories of spend; integrated supply chain processes, systems and controls; and superior supplier relationship management that maximizes total value to the enterprise without disruption to clinical or operational stakeholders.
Prior to joining Kindred, Scott worked for Cardinal Health in a variety of roles including Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, where he oversaw the procurement, inventory management, transportation and distribution of a vast portfolio of laboratory and medical-surgical products to healthcare providers and home patients across the United States and Canada. Scott also spent over six years with Resource Optimization and Innovation (ROi), widely considered one of the most advanced and integrated provider-owned supply chain organizations in healthcare, where he was Chief Operating Officer.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received his Ohio secondary mathematics educator license through Otterbein College in Westerville Ohio. Scott, his wife Beth, and their children Jake and Alyssa live in St. Louis, Missouri.
